What Can An MBA Do For Your Career?

It is not enough that we do our best; sometimes we have to do what is required – Sir Winston Churchill.

An MBA helps you acquire the broadest range of people skills and a perfected set of proven management skills in addition to helping you develop your thought processes. An MBA also prepares you for positions of leadership. Simply put, an MBA helps you become a leader with appropriate leadership tool set. Once you get these things under your belt, which is the essence of getting an MBA, the things such as making the “right career move” and “achieving your goals” all fall into their logical place.

What Does An MBA Teach You?

An MBA helps you by broadening your educational horizons. As an MBA you are looked upon to lead teams and carry out the goals of an organization. MBA’s are routinely called upon to implement tasks that require both strong leadership skills and vision.

1. Personality Development: The general aptitude that one has developed during his or her undergraduate studies will need to be translated into management ability. During the course of MBA studies, students learn various aspects of business activities and the intricate nuances involved.

2. Leadership Ability: Leadership abilities are not limited to those who born leaders. The characteristics of leadership such as composed nature, analytical abilities, an eye for detail and identifying winning strategies are instilled during the course of MBA. A manager is looked upon as a leader having vision and ability to lead from the front and by example. Six Sigma Professionals often have as much, if not more, leadership potential than newly-minted MBA’s.

3. Domain Expertise: An MBA is supposed to be a person of resource. If for example, marketing is your chosen field for MBA, you will deeply study the science of marketing and selling consumer and capital goods. This goal is also achieved by studying the psychology of the market as a whole as well as consumers. As an MBA student, you will also study how to quantify the market, budgeting and how to manage corporate finance.

ABCs of K-12 Experiential Education

Characteristics of Learning - Knowledge Transfer

Learning is all about thinking. In order for knowledge to be acquired a certain level of thinking must take place. Those levels are also called the taxonomy of learning. Taxonomy can be compared to a ladder; the higher you go on the taxonomy the deeper the level of thinking taking place for the individual. Perhaps the most well known learning taxonomy is that of Benjamin Bloom. When you look at his taxonomy there are three domains involved: thinking, doing (motor skills) and attitude of the individual. Any act of learning then involves those three domains.

In K12 classes, lessons are the blueprint for learning opportunities. In classrooms the work or activity taking place is based on a lesson designed by the teacher. Hopefully, those lessons provide learning opportunities during the course of class. And, this is the point where effective teachers separate from ineffective teachers. An effective teacher understands what is necessary to provide a learning opportunity. For example, assigning a worksheet to complete, or assigning reading material from a book or article is not a learning opportunity. Those are tasks or tools to reinforce new material already covered, or to explore what a student knows or doesn't know but in no way are they a learning opportunity.

10 NLP Patterns For Educators

Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) is as famous for its effective use in personal coaching and therapeutic applications as it is for its colorful origins. Yet despite the great potential of NLP's insights to enhance or even transform education, formal inroads into schools, colleges and universities remain elusive. One reason, perhaps, is that NLP training is a competitive industry in its own right, with a slight new-age flavor and a price point that makes NLP prohibitive for school systems to adopt widely. Another reason may be that among the factions within the NLP business, consistency of approach and quality is lacking, leaving schools to consult with NLP trainers on an ad hoc basis, if at all.

To help bridge the divide between NLP proponents and educators, I offer this article, and herein would like to discuss NLP not as a business, but as phenomenology, or what happens subjectively inside the learning mind, hoping the NLP ideas here will find their way into more and more classrooms.

How to Create Educational Materials to Make Money Online

Looking to increase your teacher pay? Chew on this. Every year schools budget to spend thousands of dollars on textbooks for students. In addition teachers in each department go to various workshops, often times paid for with board funding, where they spend money on classroom materials, ideas for lesson plans, various media and visuals so they can better appeal to different learners in the classroom.

If you've ever done some searching on the Internet for educational materials, you'll notice that you'll find lots of stuff out there. Some of these materials are good and some are bad. Some are free, some you need a subscription for and some are a one time purchase. Have you ever thought that these people are teachers just like you and I. The only difference is they are capitalizing on their skills to increase their teacher pay. Think about it...university professors do it all the time.

I'm sure that you've had a time in your teaching career when you've thought that you could do a better job of presenting ideas than the textbook laid out, or that you could create better exercises and activities. Or have you already created activities for your students that worked great in the classroom. I bet when you used them, you didn't your teacher pay. Have you ever asked yourself why you did not make money on the top of your regular teacher pay for these additional efforts, or have you ever wanted to make money on the side of your teacher pay by creating educational materials. Educational materials are a huge money maker online. There is so much demand for educational products on just about every topic under the sun.

Perhaps you have a particular approach to classroom management, or you would like to create a book of activities, or you would like to share information about how to do something else that you have a good grasp on like : How to build birdhouses. You can make money on the side of your teacher pay by simply sharing your knowledge. Isn't this what we do as teachers everyday already?

There are a couple of things that you want to check out if you want to go down this path. I have briefly laid them out; however just a heads up, an in-depth educational material could be created for each step:

1) Get advice from someone who has created educational materials before you. Whether you subscribe to a list, or a newsletter, read a report, or call them up.

2) Pick a topic that you can offer value

3) Start writing a report, a newsletter, or an e-book

4) Design or have someone design a cover for you

5) Decide how you are going to market this book

The marketing of your educational product Is the most important part! The great thing about using the Internet as a marketing tool is that there are so many people to market to. However, you need to really sharpen up your skills or you could have a great product and make squat from your efforts. When you learn from those who already know how to market online, and you will be able to make money on the side of your teacher pay.

Do not forget to check out the link in the resource box below. I've got a great free report that details my experiences with using the Internet to leverage my teaching skills so you can learn from them.

Online Education

Advantages of an Online Education

The option of getting an online education is a welcomed by many, particularly people who don't have easy access to a nearby college or university, or access to a school which offers the courses necessary to fill their particular needs.

Online educational opportunities are a real boon to students that travel frequently, or are in the military.

Many of us may have missed the opportunity to get our degrees during the traditional college years. Finances and family obligations may have curtailed opportunities.

Thankfully, easy access to online college degrees has given us our "second" chance.

Drawbacks of an Online Education

With all of its benefits, however, you need to be aware of some of the drawbacks to getting an online education.

First, make sure the school you are taking courses through is an accredited school that offers transferable credits. The Internet has opened up vast educational opportunities with many prestigious schools.

However, there are plenty less reputable schools that amount to nothing more than "diploma mills".

"Diploma Mills" give you credit for life experience, which is not recognized by state and federal laws. You can even "buy" a doctorate. So don't let a fancy website fool you.

Employers are well aware of these types of diplomas, and will check the accreditation of your degree.

If you're in doubt as to the school's reputation, check with U.S. Department of Education's Council of Higher Education Accreditation to ensure the courses they offer are accredited.

Time Management Skills

To be successful, make sure you can manage your time well. The flexibility of online courses is great, but if you're easily distracted, this type of schooling may not work for you.

It's all about self-discipline - the ability to work on your college courses and set aside time to study - even though there are a million other seemingly more important things to do.

Set Manageable Goals for Yourself

Goals help us to stay focused on our end goal. Remember if a project seems too big, break it down into more manageable, less intimidating steps. Complete a step, and move on to the next.

Staying organized and focused with the help of daily planners will help you to achieve your goals.

How to Avoid Psychic Frauds

Psychic mediums are quite complex much, you have no way of knowing if a psychic who tells the truth, because the future is unknown. They also do not know if a psychic is actually a fraud or a genuine psychic talents. Sometimes the fraud is so good at his job ripping engage their customers and that can really put to shame the men.
So how do we distinguish between a psychic reality and a real psychic fraud?

Today, you'll find on every corner psychic, telephone psychics, tarot psychics, fortune tellers and more. Amazingly, everyone wants to tell you something about your future. Go to the Internet, you'll find all kinds of psychic in any kind of website, most of them offers you a free sample reading. The reading is not really say much about his life, but will tell you about how you can benefit from the purchase of a complete reading. If we can not connect, then they will try a different trick. They will start sending emails about how your life is about to change in the next month or next week, and how to listen to them if they want to benefit from the changes. If you find such psychic, just be careful! All these so-called psychic wants their hard earned money!

Another well-known psychic fraud is called psychological dependence, such psychological hook and stick to you like a leech. They are like vampires who take advantage of their fears and insecurities. These psychics tell you about the curses and the forces of evil known to be undone and a lot of money to do so. Some of them say about their good luck that just on its way and needs some special rituals to say, do not listen to them. The only thing that interests them is good luck for you to steal their fortune.
Talk live psychic.

You may have seen an announcement about a psychic and want to visit them, here is important to use their common sense and the sentence. All human beings and animals are blessed with a sixth sense and not just psychological. If you get a bad feeling about the place and then think again if the place looks like some configuration of a film series B. Gypsy looking bedraggled or mental or psychological countless pieces of jewelry and thick smell of smoke are not really mentally most of the time. These are mainly to do all this to look like a psychic. A true psychic does not really need all this paraphernalia! They are just normal people with a talent intuition!
